CHANGES TO CONSTRUCTION CODE WELCOMED (VIC)

Victoria’s peak body for the forest and wood products industry, the Victorian Association of Forest Industries (VAFI), has welcomed the changes to the revised National Construction Code. Tim Johnston, CEO of VAFI, said the acceptance of the Mid-rise Timber Buildings Proposal for Change (PFC), will make it easier for the use of timber in mid-rise buildings up to 25m, effectively eight storeys. “These changes are extremely positive for both the construction sector, as well as the forest and wood products industry, and are a result of many years of hard work.”
