Chartered Builders Applaud NT Advisory Council to Reduce Construction Red Tape

The Australian Institute of Building (AIB) today gave due credit to the Northern Territory Government for establishing a new Construction and Development Advisory Council to make recommendations about reducing red tape.

“With the Council to make recommendations to Government by 30 June 2015 about how to further reduce red tape in the construction and development sector, the new body has its work cut out”, said Mr Robert Hunt, AIB Chief Executive Officer.

“The Northern Territory has great potential to continue its current strong growth in the construction sector if the right reforms are made.”

“The Northern Territory Government has taken this initiative to keep the Territory construction sector as robust and efficient as it can be, and we warmly welcome this.”

“This initiative will assist professional builders, whom the AIB represent, as well as the construction industry and the Northern Territory. We look forward to seeing the recommendations of this new body”, Mr Hunt stated.
