The Australian Institute of Building (AIB) in 2015 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a leading South African University, the University of Pretoria (UP). The aim of the MoU is to promote the Education and Careers in the Profession of Construction Management.
As part of the AIB’s commitment to the MoU we have committed to deliver the AIB’s eminent speakers program, the AIB Address at UP where Prof Tinus Maritz FAIB will host the AIB Representatives. The inaugural AIB Address will be delivered at UP by Mr Adam Harry FAIB on the 26th of May 2016 along with AIB National Vice President Graham Teede FAIB and AIB Young Builders Alliance WA President Matt Bowen AMAIB.
Australian Tier-1 construction company Probuild have generously provided financial support for the AIB Team to travel to South Africa along with support from the AIB.
Probuilds Western Australian Managing Director, Sam Delmenico was very keen to support this initiative by the AIB and worked hard to secure the funding through the company. The commitment by Probuild continues its long association with the AIB across Australia where a number of their Construction Managers have picked up the AIB’s coveted Professional Excellence in Building Awards.
AIB CEO Greg Hughes along with the National President Norman Faifer FAIB have welcomed the strong commitment by Probuild in supporting the inaugural AIB Address in South Africa.
Norman Faifer has personally thanked the AIB representatives for this undertaking and for giving up their time to undertake the travel to South Africa.
The AIB team will be visiting a number of Building Projects including WBHO’s Menlyn Time Square, Stefanutti Stocks – Building, Kusile Power Stn Project and the FNB Stadium and a presentation by Boorgertman and Partners on the design of the FNB Stadium.
