Just thinking back on some of the outcomes of the most recent face to face meeting of National Council in early September and it was resolved to look at ways of improving our Professional Excellence Awards. With this, it was agreed that following the success of the combined NSW/ACT Awards this year, we would again look at this in 2018. I was particularly pleased to receive our ‘first entry/submission’ into these Awards from Hong Kong. It was also great to see a full table from Hong Kong at the National Awards in Brisbane as well. As a result of this, I am hoping to introduce a modest Awards program for our members in South East Asia in the not too distant future.

South Australia have agreed to trial a different approach to their Awards in 2018 with a more contemporary look and feel (more to come). I believe it is important to always look at ways of keeping our events and activities fresh and I hope that you agree that these improvements are a step in the right direction.

A reminder that AIB CPD Online has been refreshed and relaunched. We are very proud when it comes to delivering first class and relevant Continuing Professional Development and ask that you get behind this facility. As a professional in your field, you have a personal responsibility to ensure that you are up to date with everything from innovation, trends, legislation etc. Ahead, we will be bringing more AIB specific courses online and again, hopefully sharing with you courses from other like – minded organisations. We also welcome Asta Powerproject – our new partner that is now fuelling our CPD commitment.

Have a great weekend ahead everyone.
