SYDNEY’S WEST FACES 72,000 DWELLINGS WITH NO SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE OR AFFORDABLE HOUSING (NSW)

25th July 2017

Shadow Minister for Planning and Infrastructure Michael Daley has today slammed the Government for making a complete mess of planning across Sydney with tens of thousands of new homes announced without affordable housing targets or extra funding for infrastructure. Priority Growth Areas and Priority Precincts are a NSW Government scheme which allows the Government to override local Council planning controls and rezone entire areas for increased density. The 72,000 extra dwellings planned for the Greater Parramatta Priority Growth Area would represent the largest growth area across Sydney, dwarfing the already massive Sydenham to Bankstown corridor.
